Monday makeover for the Ticket Office
On Monday 20th April a team of Amerton Railway members started on the external repair and redecoration of our wooden Ticket Office. The woodwork has been washed and rubbed down, filled and primed where necessary and some new sealing strips fitted. The major work of the day was the splicing in of some new timber to repair two areas of rotten wood in the canopy support columns. Superb craftsmanship by Roger Strike resulted in two repairs that were so pleasing to look at it was a shame to have to paint them, we hope that the photos below will show the quality of the work. Thank you Roger – the railway is very fortunate to have the services of such skilled volunteers. We hope that the warm Spring weather we enjoyed from mid-morning will remain for the painting on Tuesday and Wednesday.
