We pride ourselves on our engaging, educational and fun special events, which offer good value for money and are suitable for the whole family, have a look at what we have on offer this year! All profits from these events go back into Amerton Railway to keep our heritage moving!
Spring Events
Easter Egg Hunt
🗓️ Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th, Sunday 5th & Monday 6th April
Kick off the spring season with a family adventure! Board the train and keep your eyes peeled as we hunt for Easter eggs hidden along the line.
Pirate and Princess Takeover
🗓️ Sunday 17th May
Dress up as your favourite pirate or princess and enjoy a magical day out on the railway. A perfect adventure for our younger passengers!
Bagnall Bank Holiday
🗓️ Saturday 23rd, Sunday 24th & Monday 25th May
A major highlight for the enthusiast calendar. We are proud to partner with the Apedale Valley Light Railway and West Lancs Light Railway for a spectacular joint event celebrating classic Bagnall locomotives.

Join us for a very special day celebrating the beloved Saddletank children’s books, featuring the star of the show herself, 129 year-old Isabel!
Road & Rail Weekend

A celebration of vintage transport! Enjoy our historic trains out on the line alongside a fantastic display of classic road vehicles visiting the railway.
Teddy Bear Days
🗓️ Every Weekend in August (1st-2nd, 8th-9th, 15th-16th, 22nd-24th)
A summer holiday tradition! Bring your favourite teddy bear along for a nostalgic train ride through the Staffordshire countryside. Children travel free with their teddies!

Everything Goes Gala

Our spectacular end-of-season enthusiast gala. We pull out all the stops, running an intensive timetable featuring everything we have available. Expect a fantastic mix of steam, vintage diesel, and demonstration freight trains!
Trick or Treat Trains
🗓️ Wednesday 28th & Saturday 31st October
Join us for a spooky (but family-friendly!) Halloween ride. Fancy dress is highly encouraged as we take a mysterious journey in the dark.
Santa Specials

Our most popular event of the year! Take a magical winter journey to Chartley Halt to meet Father Christmas. Tickets sell out quickly, so keep an eye out for our booking announcements.

Did you know we can accommodate birthday parties, schools, scouting groups, societies, and corporate events? If you are looking for a unique group outing with behind-the-scenes access and hands-on heritage experience, our team would love to host you.
